  1. This privacy policy governs the manner in which Corruption Watch treats your personal information which is obtained electronically when you use this website or contact us electronically.
     
  2. Personal information means all information of a personal nature which identifies you as the source of the information and can expose you when this was not anticipated by you.  This could take place through your identification, your cell number; email address and the use of social media.
     
  3. Corruption Watch respects your privacy and personal information and we will have taken all reasonable measures, to protect your personal information in terms of our policy. Only designated individuals will be granted access to information and Corruption Watch security measures are in place internally and externally.
     
  4. All employees will only access and utilize information received for the purposes for which they are intended and as set out in Corruption Watch’s aims and objectives.  In this regard, all employees are required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement as part of their employment. Records of personal information and other data supplied to CW will not be retained longer than is necessary for achieving the purpose for which the information was collected.
     
  5. We subscribe to the principles outlined in Section 51 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 2002 (‘ECT Act’), which sets out your right to have your personal information kept private. The ECT can be accessed at: http://www.info.gov.za/view/DownloadFileAction?id=68060
     
  6. We will only reveal your personal information: if we are compelled to do so in terms of a court order or by law enforcement agencies; or with your consent.
     
  7. You agree that we shall be entitled to send "cookies" from this website to your computer. We use the word "cookie" to refer to information that is sent from this website to your hard drive, where it is saved and contains information to personalise your experience on this website. In this way, the next time you use this website we will know who you are and that you have visited this website before.
     
  8. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. By continuing to access this site you agree to be bound by them.
     
  9. This Privacy Policy will be governed by and construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of South Africa. To the extent that a court has jurisdiction over any dispute which may arise out of or in connection with this Privacy Policy, we both submit to the jurisdiction of the High Court.
