Comment on draft public procurement and procurement tribunal regulations

The National Treasury has called for public comment on the draft General Public Procurement Regulations of 2026, and draft Public Procurement Tribunal Regulations of 2026.

The regulations were both gazetted on 16 April 2026 and published in terms of section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act of 2024.

According to the gazette, “The operationalisation of the Act is dependent on the promulgation of these supporting regulations”.

The due date for submitting comments on the draft Public Procurement Tribunal Regulations, 2026, is Friday, 15 May 2026. Written comments can be e-mailed to DraftTribunalRegulations@treasury.gov.za by no later than this date.

Due to the length and complexity of the draft General Public Procurement Regulations, 2026, a longer consultation period has been determined by the Minister of Finance, and the due date for submitting comments thereon is Monday, 15 June 2026. Comments can be e-mailed to DraftGeneralProcurementRegulations@treasury.gov.za by no later than this date.
