The fight against corruption needs your voice. Fair Play, the global music movement amplifying youth voices through powerful protest music, is landing in South Africa for the first time ever, and is on the search for an epic anti-corruption anthem to move hearts and minds.
In partnership with Fair Play and Corruption Watch, and with support from the European Union Delegation to South Africa, the Enhancing Accountability Technical Assistance Facility brings you the Ngeke! Festival showcasing young voices against injustice and corruption. This is more than art and culture. This is a call to action! We call on our nation’s artists to give voice to all South Africans who are gatvol with corruption. This is a breaking point, and it’s time to say Ngeke!
What’s it all about?
- Musicians aged 18–35 from around Mzansi can submit original songs that tackle corruption, inequality, and injustice head-on.
- There’s R10 000 up for grabs by each of two acts which will be selected to perform, opening for major South African headliners (to be announced soon).
- Selected acts receive mentorship and networking opportunities to shape their story and message.
- And to top it all off – a high-profile festival on 6 December 2025 at Constitutional Hill in Joburg in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day.
Become a Fair Play Anti-Corruption Ambassador and be part of the Ngeke! Festival – apply now at https://www.anticorruptionmusic.org/south-africa before 1 September 2025.
